Mentorship

We run a mentorship programme, whereby each registrar will be allocated a consultant with whom they should meet at least every 4 to 6 weeks. The concept is that this person will provide a supportive and safe environment for the registrars to discuss and consider their professional development and challenges and to potentially provide pastoral support if required. This relationship can be used as much or as little as you wish, but you will need to be proactive at arranging meetings with your mentor.  Registrars would in turn mentor residents.

Learner-led Mentorship tool

This is a tool to help you prepare for mentorship meetings. It is self-reflective feedback tool
based on adult learning principles of feedback and learner-led learning needs analysis.

This is a learner-focused and learner-led process, which means that you need to reflect on
your recent working period prior to the meeting. You need to be prepared to speak and lead
discussion about each of the items in the document.
