Registrar Assessments and In-Training Evaluation Reports (ITERs)
Bendigo Health ICU is accredited to provide six months of ICU training as a C6 unit, in addition to six months of Foundation training. A further six months can be accredited as 'elective training'. Therefore, a total of eighteen months of ICU training can be accredited at Bendigo Health.
All registrars should organise a meeting with Emma Broadfield in the first two weeks of their attachment to discuss their experience to date, what they expect to get out of their time on ICU and any specific training needs. Please complete the SoT Initial Meeting Document to help prepare for this. A mentor will also be allocated at this meeting.
All In-Training Evaluation Reports (ITERs) for registrars registered with a college are done by Emma Broadfield. Please organise a meeting for your ITER well in advance of the final submission date and make sure that any required paperwork is up to date. Each of the colleges has different requirements and your training is your responsibility. All appraisals, assessments and reports are based on a consultant consensus opinion. All trainees are discussed at the monthly ICU Consultant Meeting, which we believe provides a fair and transparent process of assessment.
